Peter's Gold Coast Qld. Story.

Thursday, March 2, 1999.

Father, Mother and I love the Gold Coast. We have been there many times.

From the beautiful Tambourine Mountains to Brisbane and Coolangatta; beauty a bounds, with forests and beaches.

At Tambourine we saw peacocks, their tails spread out in a shiny fan with eyes on the end of the feathers looking at us. Green and lush, the walking trails were a sight to to be seen, colour was every where Mum told me now pretty it was, I could smell the perfume every where,The kangaroos came to us to feed them. They were tame.

Father, Mother and I slept one night at the motel at Tambourine Mountain. The air was crisp and clear (fresh). We could open our door and there was the rainforest heavy with the morning dew. We walked over and father helped me feel the wet leaves ( dew is like fine rain It happens at night not in the daytime ). We left the motel after breakfast. Mum made me eat lots of fruit, it was good.

Then we stopped at the shop to look at the thunder eggs. Mum locked the car. “Wait!” said father, to late. The keys, money all were in our Toyota.

Poor mum!. then some kind motor bike men worked on our car and opened the door for us. Father smiled, it was okay. We were on our way to the Gold Coast we could see the beaches and the tall buildings in the skyline. The drive was great, down the mountain, we soon arrived at our units “Mariner Views, Broadbeach”. The rooms were large, clean and had a kitchen. Mum can cook. I had a bathroom for myself so does father and mother. From our balcony ( verandah ) we can see the pool with a Dolphin on the bottom. Father and I did not take long to jump in the pool, we had our swim and games and we went to look around. We found a spa and a sauna. Yes, we had to try these out. Then upstairs to tell mum.

The beach was over the road and short walk/stroll up the street was Cavil St, The beach was long, more than a kilometre, Mum would walk very early in the morning then we would swim in the surf. Great, happy times. We visted the Fantasy Castle rode the chairlift to the top of the Fantasy Mountain. at Dreamworld we rode the wild log ride-up! up! we were pulled in our log canoe (boat) we reached the top then down the water slide. Father pulled me down and mum got wet. Ha! Ha! Father mum and I laughed, father and I were dry, Mum was wet! Great fun.

Over to seaworld. We went on the monorail. The monorail stopped at the top of the ride (halfway) to get on the chairlift for a ride over the porpoise pool, then back to the monorail, We saw the dolphins preform, jumping and standing on their tails.

Soon it was over, back home we came. I could see better then, so we built a lovely memory for me to keep. Peter's Memory to keep forever.

Thank you,

Peter Risby.
